Astral Voyage – Astral projection?

Astral projection?

I’ve been sort of into the concept for a while and I’ve been gaining deep interest in vivid dreams and I’ve learned to actually begin to control them. I was hoping someone could explain what it is I need to do to actually do this. I’m sure with enough research I could find it on the internet, but I’m asking for someone with some experience to sort of guide me for a bit and help me understand what astral projection truly is and how to go about doing it. Thank you, whoever helps, for your time. It is and will be greatly appreciated.

I hope you’ve been enjoying my posts lately. I thought I might do something different today and rustle up a few bits of info from around the WWW. These are some of the news items and blog posts that have been popular over the last few weeks. Leave me your thoughts.

Astral Travel To Another Dimension

During astral travel, while you are sleeping you may experience a sensation much like flying. The feeling of flying is a sensation you feel while your astral body is moving around on the astral plane. You can do this simply by thinking where you want to go and what you want to do before you fall asleep. While you are asleep, your subconscious mind and your astral body work together to take care of those things that you desire the most.

Astral travel and dreaming may get confusing for some individuals they are not the same. This of course, does not mean that every dream is an astral travel experience. Just after you fall asleep and you start to dream, this is when your mind begins sifting through those issues that are not resolved while you are awake. This nightly process of dreaming saves your sanity. Most often, many of these dreams go unremembered; unless you remember small fragments or pieces of your dreams once, you are awake.

Your experiences of astral travel are actually the dreams you can remember. It is a worthwhile investment to keep a dream journal to record your dreams. You can do this when you wake in the middle of the night as well as when you first wake up in the morning. Be sure to write down as much as you can remember of these dreams. Even if they do not make much sense to you, write them down anyway. Before long, they will make sense to you.

Similar to those first few dreams while you are sleeping aid in relieving and clearing the mind of stressful issues in order to keep you from going crazy, astral travel has many benefits too. This is why it is essential to keep a dream journal of those dreams that you do remember. Because, astral travel is a unique experience for each person, it is these very experiences that aid you with their benefits, although they will vary from one person to another.

In general, the benefits of astral travel include a better sense of your spirituality and your connection to the rest of the universe. This will lead to a greater sense of well being and a feeling of inner peace. Astral travel can also improve your memory and boost your level of creativity. Astral travel has this benefits because it uses a part of the brain which does not get a lot of stimulation while we are awake.

Another essential benefit of astral travel involves stimulating your n
1000
atural psychic abilities. Many individuals who regularly practice astral projection offer detailed statements concerning the enhancement of such abilities as telepathy, precognition and a heightened sense of experiencing episodes that involve spiritual beings.

This offers a good reason for practicing astral projection and astral travel, because you can take advantage of your higher spiritual energies. Unfortunately, many individuals have forgotten that they can do this naturally.

There are just about as many skeptics and non-believers of astral projection and astral travel who report that they, themselves have developed an ability to see the aura of other people and the ability to read auras, when they never could do this before practicing astral projection.

And it shouldn’t be forgotten that astral travel is a thrilling experience. It’s very empowering to know that while astral traveling that you can go anywhere and do anything that you like.

With so much to be gained by practicing astral travel, it’s a wonder that it isn’t something which is commonplace. The reason for this is that many assume that these kinds of abilities are the sole province of a select few and that they could never learn to astral project. However, the conventional wisdom is wrong in this case. All of us have these abilities; it’s only a matter of exercising them and developing to our full potential.

You may have experienced astral travel and never realized exactly what you were doing, since it is a natural process. At the beginning, you were asked if you remembered feeling like the one you were flying while you were sleeping. That sensation of flying is an experience of astral travel.

In order to get the benefits of astral travel experiences is to know consciously that you are doing it. You must then use control over what your astral body does while projecting.

There are various methods of astral travel that you can learn from others who have created videos and books to help you learn and practice this experience. This is a natural ability that you were born with. It is not very difficult to do. You have merely forgotten how to use this gift and now need to fine-tune your ability to do so.

Well there are mixed theories around this subject. Some lesrned people will say that there is no such thing and that those who experience this astral projection or Astral travel (they are defined as two diffeerent things ) are suffering from severe anxiety which manifests its self, during sleep. They suggest that the heavey sinking or floaty feelings are caused by they body trying to deal with excess chemicals produced by anxiety during the day and any lucid or "controled dreaming" is accounted for becuase the over anxious "patient " can`t attain a deep sleep and is constantly half awake during sleep. They suggest that any fatigue or elation following such an experience is caused by fatigue or exhaustion. MMMMMMM
There are accounts of Astral traveling or projection that co relate to near death experiences and experts have suggested that this is the same thing. Nothing more than severe anxiety. Those that have reported bieng tied to the body by a silver cord (chord?) have been dimissed as simply psychologicaly wanting to live and this is what has brought them back from the brink of ….well what ever.
Some occultists suggest using shapes of a certain colour to reach different planes. Stare at the coloured shape for a while and then imagine it big enough to step through. this being called a door way. Other traditions suggest a more meditive method using other visulisation techniques.
I have had and still do, sensations and experiences while either asleep or while chilling out. They all start with a falling feeling as though I`m about to hit the floor (which does produce an anxious reaction) but just before I do I start to float or hover. It takes a second or two but , when this happens I am always in the same place as in this experience, as I am physically to start with. Over the years I have found, during this experience, I can move through solid objects and can float around the area near to my "physical presence. I have had many "experiences" like this and on the whole found it enlightening and enjoyable, even though it has been described as severe anxiety that is deep rooted and been with me for a long time. I no longer pdgeon hole this and I enjoy it when it occurs. Whether or not it is astral projection or a physical reaction to severe stress I don`t know. I find the subject fascinating. I think the falling sensation comes from shallow breathing and the rest appears to follow on from there.

Where ever your attention is, there you are. I would really recommend getting a book and reading up on and practicing astral projection. No offense, but there actually is a book called astral projection for dummies, they have them on almost any subject.

It's also called out of body experience. It's actually your mind over matter, you've succeeded to control your dreams, you're close. You must be really careful for it can be very dangerous for one like you who have no experience. I've been doing this for so long. I thought I was alone. I suggest you have a mentor. Your projection is from the solar plexus, at the lower point of the rib cage, contrarily to someone who says in the throat. You shouldn't go about on this on your own, nor only with the internet, even books. It's dangerous, I must say, for you might meet the lower spirits in the air and make you much troubles that you really want to avoid at all costs. I shall know this and really warn you, seriously. You can't take this lightly. If I were with you I could help you, since I can't, find someone who knows this and very serious, there's no jokes in this, and help you to do the voyage. You would love it so much! You'll see beautiful things and places, you can go on much higher levels afterwards.
    Take good care.

    1. It takes a lot of work that starts with you believing that it can be done.
    2. Have someone you trust (and not someone that is in it for the fun of it) help you and monitor your activity.
    3. It likely will require a certain amount of hypnosis, which requires someone with experience or a really good understanding of the principles involved.
    4. That person you trust is your safety net and they must understand that if you slip, they are responsible for pulling you back.

It is not something to tackle lightly.

As to what it is, you are projecting a conscious but non-corporeal (and I hate the word copy, but it seems to fit) version of yourself to another place. When you start, do not try for distance or any place outside the immediate area. The best bet is the same room, so that you can see yourself and your friend at the same time.

If you are also not conscious of your own body at the same time you are observing yourself, then pull back in and don't try it again. Only certain kinds of people are successful and it is very dangerous to try if you do not posess the mind capable of such projection.

Is there any advantage to astral projection? There is none. It is a waste of time, except to see if you can do it. I can, but find it useless. It has made me more aware of my own self and how my mind works, but that is it. Self-help guides are just as good without the dangers.

On a side note, yes, you should be able to control your dreams, including being able to drop out of them, set them up and let them play out, and know with absolute certainty the difference between reality and a dream. You should also be able to blank your mind completely and let it paint a picture for you to study. If you cannot do all of these things, then don't try projecting your mind.

As I said, astral projection is very dangerous unless your mind is such that you can control it – that means you must always be in control of your thoughts and that takes a lot of discipline.

Disclaimer: I am not a professional and I am not advising you actually try this. If anything, I do not believe you should try it and it provides no addtional benefit to one's life.

I have risen off my bed and sunk down into the floor… I have hovered over my bed & been paralysed & can't open my eyes. I have heard people talking down the street as if they're in my EAR… trust me it's not a good thing to mess around with or try to force to happen. If God has any desire for it to happen to you, it may just happen but otherwise, I don't think you should try to do it… it hasn't happened to me for years. Some doctors say it's low blood pressure, either way, I don't think it's something to 'do'….

lucid dreaming is the first step, so good for you so far! meditating is the key, it all comes down to the control you have over your own consciousness (or ability to control your lack of control, if you will). i've been trying (still trying) to astral project for about three years now, and while i'm the master lucid dreamer, i've only been moderately successful with the latter. i suggest you read the book "Mastering Astral Projection: a 90-day Guide to Out-of-Body Experience", its the most accessable on the subject i've found.

Controlling your dreams is actually pretty easy. You start by thinking of what it is you want to dream about when you lay down and close your eyes. If you are like most people you will lay there a little while and make up your dream before you fall asleep. The first few times you will fall asleep and your dream will drift off elsewhere. This is normal. After a while when you fall asleep you will have a state of semi-consciousness where you kind of know that you are
dreaming. This is where you begin to shape your dreams. Please note that not every dream is capable of being shaped by you. Most are but to a certain extent.

I started controlling my dreams when I was about 12 and didn't even know it was something that other people didn't know about or didn't know how to do. It wasn't until about 4 years ago that I realized the majority of people can't or don't know how to control their dreams.

Have you ever woken up from a really good dream and attempted to go back to sleep and finish the dream off? If you have and acheived the result you were looking for then you did infact control your own dream.

To have more control in your dreams, Lucid dreaming, being present and more aware are whats key. Practice this in daily life. After all, your dreams are a reflection of inner thoughts and feelings. Throughout the day, try to pickup on things that are going on, and remember your mind has a lot of thoughts swirling around, sometimes best to quiet them up and try and "feel"…., and use your senses instead of just your mind, (remember, the mind can help, as well as feel the grass, things in your dream you can feel. Also Vivid dreams are really important, i believe they represent a lot more than people realize, of the inner connection beteween body, mind and soul. The most vivid things you remember in the dream are the good things to look up, In all my experience its always had deep symbology to feelings, and events that have happened, are happening and will happen. But its almost like a vivid movie playing in your head of a secret your spirits trying to lat your mind in on, ya know… Hope this helps a little,
    Sincerely, Beni

If you have dream control, deliberately choosing to banish all dream scenery – and succeeding of course! – will end the dream and leave you conscious inside your sleeping body, vibrating and exhibiting sleep paralysis. From there just attempt to be elsewhere, for me it just works.

About the solar plexus vs throat thing: the exit chakra corresponds to the astral plane you'll tend to end up on. If you make a point of exiting through the crown or forehead chakra, you'll go to correspondingly elevated planes that will a) not have monsters in b) be far more spiritually enlightening.
